Drayton Evening

What was your reaction when lockdown was announced? What have you missed most, apart from family & friends? What have you been doing? Have you learnt something new or unusual?Has lockdown been difficult or easy, could you get used to this way of life? What is the first thing you will do/like when life is back to normal?Anything else you'd like to say about your lockdown experience?
My first thoughts were 'What does it mean, what will the future be like?' I was aware that it wouldn't be a 5 minute job, but I didn't expect 18 months.Doing normal stuff, beiong allowed to shop when and where I liked, WI meetings!! Plus other groups and organisations that I belong to. I feel that I missed out, deprived even.Sewing, I have returned to dressmaking, I have made myself a coat. Walking, I now walk an hour and half (10K) daily; when I started on 23 March 2020 I could manage 20 minutes and was then in pain and unable to go any further; I now have. no pain and I can do so much more.On the whole, it's been easy, not much difference from being retired.Take the family out for a big meal, we usually celebrate all birthdays etc by going out for a meal, so we have a lot of eating to catch up on!!

Visit my sister, I haven't seen her for so long, we usually visit each other at least monthly.
It has made me sad, I lost three friends during lock-up and couldn't attend their funerals, that made me angry. It made me annoyed that the media always has to blame someone, I am not political but whatever actions the government chose, it was condemned by the press.
