Group Meeting
Spring 2025
Another lovely evening was enjoyed by members of Saham WI and Watton WI when they met at the Methodist Community Centre in Watton for their Spring joint meeting.
Linda Scoles gave a hilarious talk entitled " Everything I always wanted to know about sex!'
Born in the hills of Washington State in the USA, life was rural and, even though Linda had two further siblings and cattle being born all around her, the young girl learnt little until she came to live in England !
Everyone enjoyed the evening, especially as it was rounded off with tasty treats from a shared buffet, and it was agreed that these shared evenings are beneficial in learning together.
The Wayland WI group, made up of Watton and Saham Toney, met on September 25th for a Bollywood experience. We were also joined by members of the WI from Ashill, Attleborough and North Pickennham, and we all had a fabulous time as we had a go at the Indian dancing workshop led by Tina Vallance.
All the ladies tried out the hand and arm movements and a good number of ladies then tried out the steps.
Several ladies dressed in the costumes that Tina had brought along, and under her guidance eventually danced to the music.
As you can imagine, there was great laughter, especially as we often found ourselves moving in the wrong direction. However, with encouragement from both Tina and the ladies who were watching, the group concentrated and made a very good attempt at the dance. It proved to be a really enjoyable evening, which was rounded off with an impressive buffet.
