  • 2026 has already been busy for Hoveton WI!

We had to cancel January's meeting due to the icy and snowy conditions. Our February speaker had to cancel but fortunately January's speaker was available.

Our year got going with a visit from the East Anglian Air Ambulance trainers. We started off with questions from members about the EAAA which filled in gaps in our knowledge of the service. Simone then demonstrated CPR and explained what she was doing and why - she reminded us that our own safety was paramount if we find ourselves in a situation where we need to put what we had learned into practice. She then talked through the use of defibrillators. The session ended with some of us practising CPR on the various dummies she brought with her.

We also enjoyed a "New Year" Meal together at a local eaterie, and continue our tea and chat afternoons on a Wednesday.

Later in the year we will be learning about Medieval flax production, and for our birthday meeting in October we hope to have the Broadland Ukes to entertain us.
