Hoveton WI members had a busy August, we started the month at the Village Fete where we were kept busy serving tea and cake! The weather was great, there were a lot of people and we were exhausted by the end of the afternoon. The milk and cake supplies just made it!

Our social meeting this year was to the Museum of the Broads at Stalham. If you haven't been, we thoroughly recommend it. We arrived late morning for our trip on the river, they have a disabled access onto the boat and we all watched, fascinated, as one of our members was safely boarded in her wheelchair. We were given an interesting and informative commentary on the history and wildlife on that part of the river. One of the highlights was seeing a kingfisher perched outside its nest hole in the bank of the river. The weather was kind so we ate our sandwiches outside and then spent a couple of hours looking round the museum itself. There is plenty to see and take photos of, buttons to press etc..

Ready for the off!

Our next major event is our bitrthday meeting in October when we invite some of our local WIs to join us. It will be Christmas before we know it!!
