Briston & Melton Constable WI

On 20th February 2024, Gill was pleased to present a cheque to Claire, from Rebecca's Wishes.   Our WI’s 2023 fundraising project was to raise money to help with their charity.

President Gill Chilton (second left) and WI member Nicki (centre) were delighted to present another batch of blankets to Kelling Hospital on 24th January 2024.   Our WI members have been busy again knitting, crocheting and quilting  blankets so that they can be given out to patients. The Ward Manager Susan Garside (second right) was  pleased to receive these on behalf of the local hospital.

Christmas 2023





Our members have been busy making  decorations for the WI tree at the Christmas Tree Festival, raising funds for our chosen charity this year, Rebecca's wishes.

Briston & Melton Constable WI – Our WI members have been busy again baking cakes, biscuits & savouries for our fundraiser at the Briston Village Christmas Fayre.

                 

Darts - Winners in 2023

In October, at the Sports & Social Club in Hethersett, our  Darts team won the final in just 2 games.

Scraptastic



This quilt was made from recycled material by members of our WI
as part  of the local TwinTracks upcycling event.  The quilt is on display
in Briston Church from 12th to 17th September 2023.

Briston Village Gala June 2023

Briston & Melton Constable WI – Our WI members have been busy baking cakes, scones, jams, marmalades and biscuits, as well as potting up plants and picking fruit & veg for our fundraiser at the Briston Village Gala that was held on 24th June.

It was a hot day and was well supported by members.

This fundraiser helps us support our local chosen charity this year – Rebecca’s wishes.

This year, our WI has voted to support Rebecca's Wishes.
This  is a local charity, based in Fakenham, which helps children with cancer to have their dreams come true.

On 27th April 2023, Gill and Margie were pleased to present a cheque to Jen Goakes, the head of Astley Primary school.  Our WI’s 2022 fundraising project was to raise money to help with their new library.

The outgoing president Vicki McHarrie (far left) and the incoming President Gill Chilton (far right) were delighted to present a second batch of 25 blankets to Kelling Hospital on 28th March (making a total of nearly 50 blankets).   Our WI members have been busy knitting, crocheting and quilting  blankets so that they can be given out to patients. The Ward Manager Susan Garside (second left) was  pleased to receive these on behalf of the local hospital.
