Walks take place from the Spring until Autumn. These are nature rambles, woodlands for bluebells, historical tours in Norwich. We have followed in the footsteps of the Paston Family and toured the 'Colman's' area. A visit to The
Rosary Cemetery revealed memorials to many well known families and how some were linked through marriage. Zig-Zag over the Wensum is also interesting. These walks mean we can enjoy each others company in small groups in addition to the monthly meetings.
Old Costessey WI did a walk for ACWW which took place on Friday 11th May 2018 and some members met up and enjoyed a lovely walk in Foxley Woods.
Ladies of the Old Costessey WI enjoy eating out, so that it seemed a sensible idea to form a Luncheon Club. Every 2 months, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, we enjoy a visit to a local 'hostery'. We select a different venue each time by putting suggestions into a 'hat' and the President selects one at random. We choose places that are not too costly and the food is to our liking, We look forward to our outings which are relaxed social occasions where there is much chatter and laughter.
We have an established Darts Team who take part in the WI Darts League and meet locally in Costessey every Monday to practise and enjoy lunch together. Our ladies are hoping to do as well as last year and make it to the final.
