About Us

Hi, welcome to the Swallowtail Women’s Institute. Claire (President and in the photo on the right), Vicki, Szara and Roisin are the founding Swallowtails. We hatched a plan to set up a new WI over pizza and ice cream. We wanted to create a group that brought together local women; women who wanted to make friends, learn new skills and eat cake. So that's what we did.

The Swallowtail WI formed on 8th September 2015, during the WI's centenary anniversary month.  We currently have capacity for new members.

We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at the Diamond Centre, Sprowston, from 7.30 - 9.30 pm. We like to blend the traditional with the modern and combine elements of the Women’s Institute from the past hundred years. You’ll find a dash of Jam and Jerusalem, mixed with a lot of fun, laughter and friendship.

Every meeting we have a speaker or an activity and lots of cake. There is always plenty of time to talk to other members and visitors and relax with a cuppa.

Don't worry if you're shy. We have a few card carrying introverts amongst our founders who understand and we will do our best to help you relax and enjoy the evening.
