About Us

Bowthorpe WI was formed in 1989 and meets in Bowthorpe Church Centre on the first Monday of every month. We are a friendly and active group. We usually have a speaker at our monthly meeting. Our Walking Group stretches their legs once a month, the Darts Group, Craft Group also meet each month.

Our meetings generally begin with a small amount of business followed by a talk or demonstration by a speaker.

Most months we have a competition for members to enter and a Flower of the Month competition to raise money for the "Associated Country Women of the World." We also hold a raffle to raise funds for the running of our WI.  We have a Trading Stall where members can sell homemade and home produced items.

Refreshments are served after the formal business of the meeting when members can have a chat and sign up for the various outings that we are arranging and the raffle is drawn. 

Members who have a birthday during the month are presented with a small posy of flowers.
