#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Susan Bragg of Terrington St Clement WI We have owned a boat on the Norfolk Broads for over 22 years. Since the government relaxed some of the lock-down rules during the virus, as private boat owners, we have been able to travel Horning to our moorings. We love spending time on the river in the beautiful sunshine with a nice glass of chilled wine. Stopping off at one of the hotels/pubs/restaurants that have been providing take-aways for lunch.
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Jill Reedman, Roughton & District WI I am very lucky to live by the sea in Cromer. I love spending time walking along the beach, poking around in rock pools collecting beach treasure, or taking my kayak out on the sea. Whatever the weather, I find the sea air and vista to be such a restorative tonic - it can make me feel calm or energised
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Kate Bilclough of Swallowtail WI: I cycled past a lovely poppy field the other week whilst out on my own so on Sunday when out with hubby stopped for photo. We then had a cake and coffee stop (only way I can get him past about 14 miles) Cycling being the thing that has kept me sane and fit during lock-down and loving Norfolk for the scenery and now: the cake stops!
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. Enjoying the view of my favourite skyline! As lock-down eased last weekend it was a joy to visit one of my favourite rooftop restaurants.
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Angela Smith – Programme Secretary Mundesley WI Mundesley - My Favourite Place.I can relax and listen to the sea, wind and watching the seagulls gliding past. When the tide is low it is nice just to paddle on the shoreline feeling the cool salty water brush against my toes and caressing my feet. I also like looking for that special shell or stone that just draws your attention, wondering what its history is.
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Maggie Gallop, Drayton WI who has been wandering our County Lanes!
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, Janet Mitchell, Vice President Aylsham WI says A beautiful country house in our Norfolk countryside, a place I often visit especially to walk round the park anytime of the year, bluebell time is the prettiest, and also to have cake, coffee and lunch in the ‘Muddy Boots’ cafe! That quote describes perfectly why Blickling Hall is so special to so many people including members of Aylsham WI who have so many connections to this special place, even during lockdown, within walking distance of Aylsham. We have put how members are connected to Blickling Hall into this acrostic. B Bluebell woods are so stunning to view L Learning from NT speakers about conservation at our meetings I Illuminated house of many colours at night as we drive by C Christmas time when the hall is decorated with help by WI flower club members K Keep fit on the Park Run trail L Leisurely strolls along numerous footpaths in the parkland I In the hall volunteering as room steward N Nature – so much to admire from the yew hedge to the Orangery G Gardens galore! H History of the hall with rooms full of artefacts through the ages A Aylsham Show L Lake L #WI♥Norfolk
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Jayne Potter, Mundesley WI Here, in Mundesley village centre, is where I help look after the flower tubs and bicycle with the community gardeners. I buy flowers from The Flower Shoppe for my arrangements at All Saints and volunteer in the MVLI charity shop. Following a recent illness, Country Pickings, the butchers and post office were kind enough to deliver to me. They all make Mundesley a special place to live. I made this sign using an old pillowcase and felt from our local haberdashery shop, a gem for all things crafty and I am wearing a dress from Jupe, another village favourite. I love Mundesley for it’s sense of community and the lovely little independent shops with their kind and friendly staff.
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Kim Salmon, Secretary Mundesley WI Since lockdown, we have counted ourselves very fortunate to live in the beautiful village of Mundesley. We have benefitted so much from being able to walk in the nearly deserted surrounding countryside and along the beach, normally enjoyed by many visitors, but more importantly we are also blessed to know it on a personal level as a warm welcoming place, we are lucky enough to call home. To try and achieve something positive from lockdown I signed up for an online watercolour course, which I have really loved. I wanted to see if I could paint something to include # WI Norfolk symbol, and a pot of lavender seemed to be the answer!
#WI♥Norfolk #MyVirtualWI #NorfolkDay2020We love our beautiful county and we love our WI. This is why, says Lesley Sanders, Federation Trustee Love Norfolk – The countryside, the coast. Walking under the big sky, love the wildlife and the wildflowers. What’s not to love?
